Here we are looking to assist anyone who is considering setting up a small business, or anyone who has been trading for a while and seeks confirmation of what they need to know, or seeking further information. There is a vast array of business ventures within the UK: some will require additional information, and may require licenses or must meet certain regulations specific to their business (ie transport haulage, child care providers, etc), but the general information contained in these pages will need to be considered by most small businesses. Different organisations define a small business in different ways. Some go on turnover, and others on the number of employees within the organisation. For the purpose of this topic, a small business is considered to be up to 20 employees.
